Plum Cottage is a beautiful thatched cottage in Shepreth with everything you would expect from a building of this period, low ceilings and lots of potential bang-on-the-head moments if you don’t keep you wits about you.
We were asked to replace all the windows and front door under LBC. The new single glazed lay bar windows were to replace some really bad joinery fitted in the eighties so the newly fitted windows really bring the cottage alive.
They have kept the traditional feel and character and work perfectly with the Kirk Patrick black iron furniture.
The client intended to have our special secondary glazing system fitted but has been so impressed with how well the new windows work and perform they have decided to hold off and see what a full season brings.
We are very proud of the new Oak front door which is completely traditional and suits the cottage down to the ground.
We have just fitted a beautiful new Oak wardrobe fully fitted to the massively uneven ceiling.
All the internal draws and doors have soft close ironmongery and the lovely feel to the Turnstyle handles just finishes them off perfectly.
